Owner Financing
Owner-Financing.com used to be a website that explained the pros and cons of owner financing from both the buyers and sellers perspectives.
Unfortunately, in their infinite wisdom and desire to protect everyone from financial risk, the government has pretty well eliminated this choice. In July of 2010 Secure and Fair Enforcement for Mortgage Licensing Act, also known as the SAFE Act goes into effect. It requires anyone planning to use owner financing for anything except their personal residence to obtain a mortgage originators license.
No doubt a few people will figure out how to work with this new system, but I am not willing to take the risk of mistakes and re-write the website to conform to the new requirements.
